Random was born as a music collective in 2006 in an underground club in the dark city of Edinburgh, following years of events promotion in the Scottish Psytrance scene. In 2010, coinciding with a relocation to Spain, Random transitioned to a record label, launching our first compilation with the idea of raising funds for the indigenous Cofan people of Colombia, through our charitable project called Indigenous S.O.S. Label profits from this were donated NGOs such as Native Planet, the Cofan Survival Fund., Amazon Watch and Feconapia. In recent years we have focused our support on the organization Survival International, working in partnership with tribal peoples to protect their lives and land, as they suffer racism, land theft, forced development and genocidal violence simply for adhering to their traditional way of life.
Since 2010, these are our most significant numbers:
• 5200 € donated
• 192 artists from 31 different countries.
• 56 releases and 477 tracks
